lots of new vintage dishes pictures

the lovely stack of verde crazy daisy and old orchard...

a little bright fuscia lefton china saucer...no sadly i dropped the bag the cup was in and the little cute pedestal broke in three pieces...outrage as i made a second trip back just to get the cup and saucer...the edge of the saucer looks much darker in the photo due to my android horrid phone camera...it is the brightest pretty color!

a little humor....which reminds me i do have many duplicates of pyrex!!! i always tell it sorry you are not my first but i bring it home anyways...i see a pyrex joke here....me and my sense of humor...

federal glass, pyrex.and in pink! of all things. ..and a little bit of rescued china in the background...rescued as in the store was going to toss the whole box of it due to a few chips on the edges. i saved it from sheer destruction

pyrex amish butterprint and a little hers pitcher

napkin holder

oh corelle and matching pyrex...i have too much of you in this pattern. i will round you all up and offer you to a group somewhere...for auction or sale. or to someone very lucky i may know!

i found this language, boilable, bacteria resistant interesting for this vintage chopper.

some melmac or melamine on top of pyrex

great quote...that can get me in too much trouble...

found this, waited a whole week and it was still there...waiting for me. i have the large canister as well to go with it. building collections from vintage Sears items, one piece at a time...

federal housewares label still inside the veggie chopper.

always think outside the box....and yes the cat reminds me when his box needs cleaning...maine coons are very smart cats!

i have successfully stayed up all night. for no reason. and that is exhausting too. bet there is a new moon coming soon.

hung this tin tray for campbells soup on my wall, it came complete with the wire hanger, i used some removable sticky tape with a hook good up to .5 pounds to hang it. love that it wont ruin the wall if i take it back down.

love this sign someone posted from hawaii...i may put up a sign like that for a yearly spring garage sale to clear out some old furniture that just isnt working here since finding new old furniture that works better. and to thin out my collections...that seemed to all have multiplied in duplicates....who knew i didnt have one of those already? me, so i got a second one and then had twins...yeah, that happens here....i will so be making one of these signs...on poster board no less, just have not found myself one of these store signs yet or i would probably have that too already.

found this big oversized tray...love it. it is a little banged up and has a couple scratches but how could anyone simply not just love this tray? it is going on my wall too. i will soon have no wall space left. upon one visitor to my home, i received the comment you have a lot of artwork.  oh really, i like artwork, it is educational. and inspires me. guess i did it right in displaying as it was considered art and wasn't called junk on the walls. i will take it as a compliment either way.

a bit of my collection...still working on building the urge to paint the wood easter eggs or decoupage them in cute prints or fabrics.

i see some federal glass and some cute little hallmark chick and bunny salt and pepper shakers, and a pair of twin japan puppy dog salt and pepper shakers...kitsch, yes i used the word for the little elephant mini planter? toothpick holder maybe?...i love elephants...ignore the craft and hobby pile to the right...no time for editing pictures. just wanted to get some listed here. and after all no one is perfect...note to self, move the box of crap before adding more pictures of cool stuff to blog!

look at the mcm coffee pot...and vintage melamine, and pyrex...oh my!

unmarked pitcher, no clue....it was unique, so i brought it home. the fun part of treasure hunting is the unique and things that are not so ordinary that i have never seen before...which is a lot of things despite all the research i do there is always something new....tip of the day, learn something new every day. second tip of the day, learning always costs money in some way shape or form. Personally, learning while treasure hunting for cool sh*t is better than learning from a text book...

note i did not trim the jar gripper blue material between the bowls, it does hold them in place and the photo is to show that before i trim it down to size to display the lovely green daisy bowls.

some handpainted pottery in gold...love the pitcher......and a light blue dish that does not show well in the picture. ...i am guessing 1940s or 50s two handled jar, it reminds me of a genie bottle shape...just missing the lid. this is my second 1940/50s piece with gold trim in a really unique pattern. i had never seen it before. now two pieces in less than a month. i hope i dont find too many more unique things, well except for the heavy cast iron vintage antique chairs that i like painting. i would bring those home in two seconds flat. and i have. :).

what currently is tearing at me is the crisp white painted two chairs and love seat victorian set i have that i would love to paint in multicolors....but the white sure is looking so fresh and nice...this may be the year i go with everything black and white again for chairs and desks etc...people love my artwork but definitely the best sellers have been black and white so gypsyprincessart.blogspot.com will be showcasing some new work this year once it warms up outside in many black and white hand painted designs. we will see what i come up with! my work always surprises me when i finish it.

oh well....this is how i felt when i realized only a small portion of my pyrex fit in the china hutch!

and this little meme is great for those who outbid us on pyrex or grab it right up just as we spot it in stores...but really i am not violent, although i could have been had i caught the two women whom took it upon themselves to take the vintage luggage out from under my nose when i asked if i could buy it and the sale lady said oh no you can just have those and the two chairs. two other ladies left at that very moment and sure enough suitcases disappeared magically before i turned around from saying thank you.

they didnt even have the decency or courtesy to say a word. those are the kind of women who yeah deserve karma...i will let karma handle them....still irritates me since they were near the curb and i was going to grab them near the end of a moving sale, in great shape with price tags still on too...but no i thought i would be polite and ask first. i see where polite gets me. i will still be pleasantly polite, cause it is the right thing to do...unless the situation calls for impolite...then maybe...not.

can you read this? i cant either...so hate my phone camera....
there made it a bit bigger! Oneida Deluxe...and again darned horrid camera left a mustard yellow when this is actually a melmac material bright yellow cheery little pitcher with white inside.
yep thats right...i have a very good eye for finding cool stuff. and i enjoy it when i have time and energy to go out searching for it. :)

and another day gone that i didnt rearrange pyrex to display the rest of it all...oops...Rome wasnt built in a day right? that is what i keep telling myself. One day at a time...sweet Jesus, thats all im asking from you...bet ya sang that didnt you?

cute little vintage car tray..i do love trays..

yes they sold this to me and dumped the old pepper right out before bagging it up!

cute little vintage coffee cup in cheery yellow.

girls....thats right thats us.

this is funny.

this is not so funny..ok yes it is...

this is just so wrong...

and this is your answer to why all the memes. ;)

ok back to pyrex...yep the big old bertha old orchard is minty!

they look so creepy behind mcm glass sliding doors...i may just remove the glass doors. or not...thanks to the cat who i dont let near the dishes...but he tries...he tried desperately to not be swatted off the rush seat ladder back chair as he attempted to use the seat as a scratching post...the little useless furball...

he is good for a couple things...adding heat to my blankets...wasting my time when i let him use my laptop to watch youtube videos of birds and squirrel videos for cats, yes there is such a thing! he has a favorite one, the only one i watched with him for 18 grueling minutes of birds and squirrels eating seeds he was glued to the screen purring the entire time..

.pyrex is one thing he cannot use as a scratching post and he is grounded from the internet til he learns to leave my chairs alone....another one of my passions...my chair collection..yes full size small size all sizes of chairs..at least i have only one cat and one dog. no collecting there, they are family much as i hate the fur cleanup i stopped at one each.

love this mug. in fact i love a lotta things...minus a checkbook which i dont use.

some little vintage fruit bowls.

that is all for today. gotta love the Bitter-Heartless Bitch on facebook for this one. ;). cheer up you are not all that bad. smile it is a new day!

Flintstones thermos

How i used to love watching cartoons as a kid at our house on Saturday mornings! WHile many moms were in the kitchen baking in their pretty pyrex dishes, they were also listening to the peaceful happy sound of cartoons that pretty much entranced their brood til breakfast was ready! This Aladdin Thermos immediately brought back memories of our mid century modern style home and the sheer thrill of a Saturday morning filled with laziness and cartoons, one of my favorites? The Flintstones of course!

I feel that this entire blog wouldnt be complete without at least one recipe from a fellow blogger, so let's all give a shout out to Shauna where i found some pretty amazing recipes for breakfast...at my house on Saturday mornings, it was crepes, pancakes, cereal or scrambled eggs...but there was always something for everyone.

and of course if you truly must have a few episodes of The Flintstones of your very own...Be sure to check out an Amazon Prime Trial for free shipping on your order.

pyrex crazy daisy napkin rings

I just found a set of six napkin rings. in a sealed bag from a little shop who packaged them up.
i borrowed the following photos from a sold listing from the internet to depict how an original boxed set would have
been in its original state.

while i have no box, i do have a set of 6 napkin rings. they are for sale for a fair price plus shipping through paypal.
thank you for looking and i do hope you enjoyed seeing the original Pyrex Compatibles napkin rings that do complement corelle dishes as well in the same pattern~

oh my poor little honey hole of a shop had no clue what they were! and they like to think they are experts on pyrex as they price much of it pretty outrageously and the better stuff doesnt even make it to the sales floor instead facing a timely demise to thrift  store auctions to be bid upon and charged higher fees with shipping for the lucky buyer who wins...

please just keep all our pyrex here and let me buy it at a reasonable price, like the napkin rings

below zero temps with wind chill

it is just way too cold out for thrifting yep that is me saying this.! i am going to take a nap. and then watch the grand kids.
my grandma is being sent to a closer hospital for rehab. stroke progress is going very well! it has been a helluva long week waiting to here updates from an hour away so haven't gotten a lot of anything accomplished.

should have loads of fun tonight playing make believe for a few hours with the kids.

Next will be power steering pump. it is nice having a beat up old mercedes suv to drive around for thrifting and no worries about beating it up like the time i hit a snow ice bank ok just yesterday i stopped at a little shop and not one dish! but managed to pull out of the parking spot at just the right angle to hit the ice enough to crack my bumper. darned plastic cars. i want the good ole fashioned metal cars that never bend if you hit things! Very hard to concentrate when not enough coffee and severe fibromyalgia pain but i managed...poor suv...still made it out of the house and
it was friday the 13th after all my sis reminded me. So home i went! Now we just wait and see how much longer i can go without losing my power steering. hoping to get it fixed this upcoming week.

Have a great valentine's day weekend. federal buildings are closed monday so no shipping things out right away. nice little break.

clear bottom pyrex bowl chart

http://www.corellecorner.com/clear-pyrex-profiles/469-clear-bottom-bowls-1986.htmlhttp://www.corellecorner.com/clear-pyrex-profiles/469-clear-bottom-bowls-1986.html

Yes! i had an opportunity to buy a light brown set of these awhile back and did not buy them due to thinking they were newer and not worth anything. i just may have to go out and check to see if they are still there! any interest? i believe the set was 45 dollars for the mixing bowls.

sigh....i am not feeling up to heading out just yet. Fibromyalgia really takes a toll on a person so i go when i can go and accept i cannot go other days due to pain and exhaustion. I have realized on my bad days to just accept it and save up energy for the next day. :).

hope the charts helps! i know if that set is there still when i go back, i will bring it home and snap a picture.

my grandma got to ride in a helicopter. which when i found out was terrified to know she had to do that for a hospital transport. was relieved to hear from my aunt that she is in good spirits, and even relayed a message that grandma says they had her wear "earmuffs" or headphones in the helicopter so they could hear when she talked to them.

stroke is a high possibility after a heart attack and having stents put in by docs and that happened.... My grandma is pretty strong and made it through both so far now.  We are still waiting on results. I would feel guilty driving out to buy pretty dishes with her in the hospital even if i did feel better.

For now, we rest, and we wait for travels to continue soon!

i was first in line!

I was first in line in bitter cold a few days ago for the estate sale in town.

Even arrived a half hour early....and lo and behold one other car was there. What got me was how ten other people showed up after that and proceeded to stand outside in subzero temps to be first in line.
really?
not happening! i walked up to the front of the line and looked inside....some old guy said he the line is back there....yeah...try messing with me.
i politely said well, i was in the parking lot for the past half hour to be first in line, and in fact that guy behind you was here even before me, the guy kinda ducked down embarrassed, but i said in fact you should be up here in front of me even....after thinking about it for a minute, he walked up in front of a couple people and stood next to me...
and we all proceeded to freeze for the next 12 minutes in the cold.

Why are people so dumb that we couldnt all just wait in our cars? that would have made more sense. So i get inside, and all the pyrex is marked skyhigh beyond belief and lots of it scratched and missing lids. well then....i did find a really cool vintage ottoman and while i was thinking about a mink stole for 16 dollars, another lady walked up and grabbed it. darn. guess there is no thinking when it comes to mink stoles...

I did buy the ottoman for 12 bucks. and know they go pretty well on ebay so wish me luck there. If you are in need of a really nice ottoman, i may just knock a bit off that high ebay price for you to get a great deal.

Went back a couple days later, and sure enough the pyrex was all more reasonably priced. i started filling boxes and met another collector who as i held my breath she reached for the one little promo in the whole bunch i was stacking up. ah well sometimes we have to share and i was glad to meet her and glad she got there when she did or that little promo would be sitting here too.  and it isnt like i knew the difference in what i was exactly buying at the time anyways so happy to share and learn from fellow collectors and new friends. . I will watch for more promos for sure. The estate sale guy brought me two really big boxes.

On my way out of that sale i couldn;t resist, and i wish i had a bigger kitchen which really sucks that i dont have one, but yes, i did buy a vintage table and chair set, but had no clue how i would ever get it home or why i bought it or what i would even do with it.

. While heading out to the car with all my dishes someone asked to buy the table and chairs from me. well, that worked out well! and even actually covered part of my pyrex purchase. quickest sale ever of the most beautiful yellow enamel and chrome vintage table i ever owned, for a few minutes...

three days later and I am still washing Pyrex. Does anyone ever get tired of it? lol.....no worries i took lots of breaks to do a few photo shoots of the new stuff.

gotta admit i have had this for awhile but didnt know it was called a creamer and opal at that . so here we have a Pyrex Creamer in opal. $10

Here I have grouped a couple of my ten cup corning ware percolators along with a corelle cup and the Federal glass set found at the estate sale. This stuff is heavy. and not pyrex....so moving on....

444 4 Qt. $20 small chip on handle, yeah like i said, the estate sale was filled with bad pyrex, is there such a thing?...but i still bought as much as i could.

442 1 1/2 Qt.

it is a good thing people me included love turquoise...which is what drew me to this pattern...am not amish, but certainly love the colors of this butterprint pattern.442 1 1/2 Qt. $18

Large Pyrex mixing bowl 444 4 Qt $25

475 B 2 1/2 quart $20
honestly? this looks like a sort of quilt pattern..Can't very well call it a pyrex quilt though right? which would be pretty cool if there were quilts with pyrex patterns on them. Has anyone created those yet?

474 B $10

475 B Pyrex $10

Shiny red slight blemishes no chips. 444 4 qt pyrex $30

471 1 pint with 28 470-c pyrex lid $15

045 2 1/2 quart. $30 omg! just realized my grand daughter may only be 5 years old, but snowflakes means only one thing, Frozen by Disney....she actually will force me to act out the entire movie scene by scene....sigh....she does tell me my lines too..someday years from now, she will most likely love snowflake dishes simply to remind her of her childhood hope the snowflake pyrex is still around. :)

being a vintage dish collector, who could ever pass this stuff up? yes, i did find my first gay fad bowl

Good color! fire king oven ware mixing bowl about 1.5 liters or just over 4 cups. $15

and that is about it for the estate sale, not counting the rest i haven't photographed yet! ;).  yes it will be awhile before it is all listed.

so back to that after i rest for awhile...
